NWH supports sustainable talent growth through appointment of Saltire Scholar

Following the announcement earlier this month that waste recycler, The NWH Group, has joined forces with Entrepreneurial Scotland, the business has brought in Sophie Allardyce for a ten-week internship through the Saltire Scholar Programme further cementing its pledge to supporting sustainable talent growth.

Nicola Williams, Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Here at The NWH Group, we are committed to creating and supporting sustainable careers and we are delighted to be furthering our partnership with Entrepreneurial Scotland as we know it identifies individuals who are consistently cited as the top talent within Scottish universities. Our aim with supporting the Saltire Scholar programme is to provide a transformational opportunity for a young person through working in our business.”

“We’re really pleased to be welcoming Sophie into the team. She’s joining us at an exciting time, and we’re keen to hear her fresh perspective and creative ideas as part of our green action plan by looking at our carbon footprint and sustainable jobs as we map out our route map to becoming carbon negative.”

Sophie Allardyce said: “This is an amazing opportunity for me to undertake a paid internship with an inspiring family business. I am looking forward to the challenge ahead at The NWH Group; the experience and insight it will provide will give me a boost for my future career opportunities.”

“I’m thankful to both The NWH Group for hosting me, and to Entrepreneurial Scotland for providing the platform to inspire people, providing sustainable career opportunities and promoting entrepreneurship.”

On completion of her internship at The NWH Group, Sophie will return to complete her degree in Textile Design at The Glasgow School of Art.

Entrepreneurial Scotland’s Saltire Scholar programme is world-class internship programme that prepares university students in their penultimate year of study by undertaking commercially valuable projects in Scotland and all over the world.
