The NWH Group values its employees career progression

We are proud to support our colleagues through career progressions and promotion. Callum Rutherford joined the business in 2018 as an apprentice and has now been promoted to Transport Team Leader.

When Callum first started he was an ambitious young man and was eager to learn and grow within the company. He quickly made a name for himself as a hardworking and dedicated employee. Despite his lack of experience, Callum was quick to pick up new skills and was always willing to take on new challenges. He was a natural learner and was easy to coach and teach, which made him a valuable asset to the team.

Callum's positive attitude and willingness to take on new tasks helped him to quickly rise through the ranks. He started as an apprentice, working in the office and learning the ropes of the business. But at that point in time his passion was on the driving side, and he moved to the driver side of the company.

Despite his success on the driving side, Callum never forgot his roots and after a few years, he decided to go back to where he started, the office work. He wanted to use the knowledge he gained on the driving side and apply it to the office.

He was promoted to Transport Team Leader when a position became available. Callum is a valuable employee of the NWH Group. He is a loyal, good learner, easy to coach, always open for feedback, and an inspiration for other employees. He is an asset to the company and it's a pleasure to have him as part of the team.

We asked Callum for a few words on his promotion and here’s what he said:  “NWH gave me the opportunity to develop my skills and driving with the apprenticeship scheme, but with guidance from Eddie and Dougie I was given the opportunity to develop my skills even more with being in the office. I was pushed out of my comfort zone and my confidence grew. I would like to thank Eddie and Dougie and all the transport team (John, Colin, Bev, and Graeme) for their continued guidance and support"
