The NWH Group raises the bar in its commitment to developing and investing in staff

The NWH Group are proud to announce the internal promotion of one of our long serving employees Nicola Banks. Nicola joined the business in 2016 as a weighbridge admin assistant and today we celebrate her promotion to Order Processing Team Leader.

The NWH Group have an employee development policy when recruiting into roles. We promote from within the business prior to external recruitment. The Group have successfully promoted 18 staff into new roles in the last 12 months.

Having started with the business as a weighbridge admin assistant in our Leith depot some 7 years ago Nicola quickly progressed through the business and has never shied away from trying new challenges. In 2020 in one of the toughest years for most, through all the restrictions placed upon us during COVID, Nicola put herself out-with her comfort zone after being approached by a manager within the business to try a role in Sales. Nicola moved into the Customer Acquisition Team where she upskilled and developed herself.

In the January of 2021 Nicola was on the move again all the while learning more about the business and customer base year after year, taking a role in the Order Processing department Nicola got herself into a position where she was identified as the perfect candidate for the team leader role she has now accepted.

As a happily married mum of one boy and 2 dogs, we asked Nicola how she juggles family, work and still have the drive and motivation for change and development and here’s what she told us:
