NWH Group leads the charge with first fully electric Volvo lorry

As a pioneering family-owned waste management business, we are ecstatic to announce the launch of our very first fully electric articulated HGV, procured from Volvo. This milestone marks a significant step forward in our company's mission to reduce our carbon footprint and environmental impact, leading the way toward a more sustainable future.

With sustainability at the core of our operations, the NWH Group has already reported an impressive 91% reduction in on-site fuel usage by transitioning to alternative sources, coupled with a notable 63% reduction in the carbon footprint of our fleet through the adoption of electric vehicles.

Building on this success, we have embarked on the next phase of our sustainability journey by initiating the transition of our HGVs to fully electric alternatives. The acquisition of the Volvo artic lorry marks the first step in this transformative process.

Nicola Williams, Director at the NWH Group, said: "At the NWH Group, sustainability is not just a goal; it's a fundamental value that drives every aspect of our operations. With the launch of our first fully electric artic vehicle from Volvo, we are reaffirming our commitment to sustainable practices and taking concrete steps towards achieving our vision of a net-zero future."

The Volvo artic lorry represents the epitome of cutting-edge technology and innovation in the transportation industry. With zero emissions and enhanced energy efficiency, it offers a viable and eco-friendly alternative to traditional diesel-powered vehicles.

Nicola continued: “We are dedicated to sustainability and environmental stewardship. With a steadfast commitment to reducing our carbon footprint, the company is at the forefront of driving positive change in the waste management industry. Through innovative solutions and a dedication to excellence, the NWH Group continues to set the standard for sustainable practices and environmental responsibility.”
