NWH expands in Dumfries

The waste recycler NWH Group, has appointed local man Richard Clow as Business Development Manager in Dumfries.

This appointment will ensure local knowledge and relationships are built throughout the region. We now employ 17 local staff at our Dumfries depot bringing a wide range of knowledge and expertise to the waste services market here.

On joining the team, Richard Clow said: “It’s great to be part of an ambitious growing business, and one that is helping to create a better environment. As well as finding new opportunities, my new role is very much focussed on looking after our existing customers in the long term, ensuring we are doing our best to responsibility manage waste and transform this in to valuable new products.”

He added: “I’m very much looking forward to getting back out and about to meet people as soon as it’s safely possible to do so.”

Following the acquisition of the business and assets of Dumfries-based Armstrong Waste Management last year, The NWH Group has been forging ahead with expanding our waste services throughout Dumfries and Galloway, looking to identify further growth opportunities, as well as creating a number of new jobs in the area.

From our Glasgow Road site in Dumfries, we serve the south west of Scotland, the central belt and the north of England, providing commercial and domestic skip hire, trade waste services and materials recycling from our undercover facility.

We recently invested £2.5m in a state-of-the-art, construction and demolition waste processing plant featuring the most up to date waste screening and separation technology to sort through construction and demolition waste more effectively, enabling the plant to capture 15% more material for recycling.

The new plant, which has been operational since October, has the potential to save 20,000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste from going into landfill each year. This investment ensures that The NWH Group will have the most cutting-edge facility in Scotland and underpins its vision to eliminate waste to landfill.
