Celebrating our Second annual employee awards, A night of recognition, camaraderie and appreciation.

On Saturday the 24th of June we held our highly anticipated Second Annual Employee Awards, a truly special evening that honoured the exceptional talents and contributions of our incredible workforce. This event, held at Eskmills in Musselburgh, was a testament to the remarkable dedication and teamwork that drives our organisation's success. 

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly the CEO's Outstanding Contribution in 2023 Award, which Mark Williams proudly presented to Darren Gracie, Manager of the Aggregates Wash Plant at Yard 2. Darren's unwavering commitment to excellence and his remarkable leadership qualities have significantly impacted our operations, making him an exceptional recipient of this recognition. 

During his acceptance speech, Darren humbly attributed his success to the collaborative efforts of his colleagues at Yard 2. "I will accept this award," he graciously expressed. "But I owe this award to the amazing team at Yard 2. Their constant support, hard work, and dedication have been instrumental in our accomplishments." 

The Second Annual Employee Awards were a celebration of the outstanding achievements of our employees across various departments and teams. What made these awards truly special was that they were nominated and voted upon by our employees themselves, emphasising the importance of peer recognition and appreciation. 

The evening saw a multitude of categories, each recognising unique contributions. Our Best Driver awards, categorised by depot, acknowledged the exemplary driving skills, professionalism, and dedication demonstrated by our valued drivers. The Most Supportive Colleagues award celebrated those who consistently went above and beyond to lend a helping hand and foster a supportive work environment. And let's not forget the Workplace Comedian award, which brought laughter and joy to our workplace. 

The event served as a powerful reminder of our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture. It brought together employees from all corners of our organisation, highlighting the achievements that make us proud as a team. Each award recipient was met with applause and heartfelt congratulations, reinforcing the spirit of camaraderie and motivation that drives our organisation forward. 

As the evening drew to a close, the atmosphere was filled with a profound sense of pride, appreciation, and renewed enthusiasm. The Second Annual Employee Awards not only celebrated individual accomplishments but also emphasised the strength of our collective success. It was a night where we honoured our incredible employees and expressed gratitude for their unwavering dedication and commitment.
