Breaking Barriers: NWH Group’s 2024/25 Gender Pay Gap Report

At The NWH Group, we know that gender pay inequality remains a challenge across the UK. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the national gender pay gap was 7.0% in 2024, highlighting that while progress has been made, there’s still work to do — particularly in sectors like waste management and logistics, which have traditionally been male-dominated.

Despite these industry-wide challenges, we’re proud to be driving change. We remain committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace where every individual, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to thrive. This commitment extends across all roles in our organisation — from drivers and operatives to leadership and management positions.

We’re pleased to share our 2024/25 Gender Pay Gap Report, which highlights the strides we’ve made:
Pay Progress: Continued improvement in reducing pay disparities year over year. In 2024, we reported our mean gap at 0.78%, a significant improvement from 3.45% in 2023 and 6.23% in 2022.
Representation Growth: An increase in female representation across multiple pay quartiles.
Equal Rewards: Higher proportions of female employees receiving bonuses, reflecting our focus on equitable reward structures. In 2024, 39.29% of our female employees received a bonus; a big increase compared to 2023 when this percentage was 31.48%.

While we celebrate these achievements, we know the journey doesn’t end here. We’re doubling down on efforts to close any remaining gaps, with a focus on:

- Training & Development: Expanding programs to support career growth for all.
- Awareness & Mentorship: Building a culture of learning and support through dedicated mentorship initiatives.
- Industry Collaboration: Working with partners, educational institutions, and policymakers to break down industry barriers and inspire the next generation of talent.

We understand that driving lasting change takes time, intentional action, and collective effort. By fostering transparency, accountability, and a culture where everyone feels valued and empowered, we hope to lead by example and contribute to a more inclusive future for our industry.
