The Role - Order Processing Customer Support and Weighbridge Operator (Part Time)

Location: Dumfries, Scotland

Salary: £22,000-£23,000 Pro Rata

Working hours: 27.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday 9am-3pm

This is an exciting opportunity to roll up your sleeves and become our next Order Processing Customer Support and Weighbridge Operator. This combined role encompasses responsibilities in both Order Processing Customer Support and Weighbridge Operations. Reporting to the Order Processing Supervisor and Site Manager, this position serves as the first point of contact for all Waste Services customers of the NWH Group and controls and coordinates waste movements on and off-site. You will act as an ambassador to the organisation, ensuring accurate recording of waste materials weight and waste code in line with licensing requirements.

Main Job Activities

 Order Processing Customer Support Responsibilities:

  • Vibrantly welcome new and established customers across multiple communication platforms (Outlook, Live chat, Telephone).
  • Sincerely build lasting relationships and excellent rapport with customers.
  • Proactively manage high volumes of emails, calls, and orders.
  • Proactively manage customer complaints.
  • Skillfully and analytically approach invoice queries.
  • Accurately create, record, and schedule orders/services onto bespoke IT systems.
  • Passionately promote the company’s services and support the Sales function.
  • Act as an ambassador for the NWH Group.

 

Weighbridge Operator Responsibilities:

  • Accurate recording of weights and waste types by vehicle.
  • Maintain the weighbridge office and surrounding areas in a clean, tidy, and hazard-free condition.
  • Adhere to licensing guidelines and SEPA regulations.
  • Assist in general administrative duties and customer service as required.
  • Liaise with transport, sales, and workshop teams as required.
  • Adhere to a culture of safety.
  • Ensure all site visitors sign in and off-site.
  • Ensure that all visitors and customers wear correct PPE.
  • Always maintain professional and welcoming interactions with customers.
  • Effective communications with all NWH employees (site manager).

 

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

  • Flexible & Adaptable attitude towards work
  • Experience working in a high-pressured environment
  • Ability to communicate with staff at all levels
  • Knowledge of materials processed recycling
  • Competent in basic Microsoft Office Packages
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Previous customer service training (desirable)
