Salary: £32-34k/year  

Hours: Minimum 40 hours/week  

About the Role: 

Are you ready to step into a dynamic role with one of the leading names in sustainable waste management? We’re looking for a skilled Aggregate Recycling Plant Operator to be an integral part of our operations at our state-of-the-art wash plant in Mayfield, Dalkeith.  

As a Aggregate Recycling Plant Operator you’ll be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our advanced wash plant. Working closely with the Wash Plant Technical Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering key site objectives, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring optimal output and quality. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and promote a high level of safety across the site. 
  • Operate the wash plant effectively and support site operations. 
  • Ensure compliance with SEPA site operating plans and environmental guidelines. 
  • Support weekend operations when required. 
  • Handle daily housekeeping and stock-taking tasks. 
  • Assist in preparing reports, updating timesheets, and ordering processing chemicals. 
  • Monitor and maintain KPIs, including safety, throughput, and downtime. 
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and log on CMMS. 
  • Support the Wash Plant Technical Lead and deputize in their absence. 
  • Ensure the quality of materials produced meets internal and external testing standards. 

 

What We’re Looking For: 

Essential Skills & Experience: 

  • Strong leadership and people management skills. 
  • Solid knowledge of Health and Safety legislation. 
  • Good organisational abilities. 
  • Familiarity with recycling/quarry plant operations and equipment. 

Desirable Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Experience conducting risk assessments and method statements. 
  • IOSH – Managing Safely certification. 
  • CPCS tickets for 360 and Loading Shovel equipment. 
  • WAMITAB Level 4 certification. 

Performance Goals: 

  • Achieve site safety, compliance, and throughput targets. 
  • Minimize plant downtime and adhere to maintenance schedules. 
  • Support team performance and meet operational KPIs.
