We are now recruiting for a Plant Fitter to join our HGV workshop operation based from our Head Office in Dalkeith. We maintain our own varied fleet of HGV vehicles including Tippers, Skips, Hooks, Artics, trailers, Bin Lorries and Road Sweepers, as well as plant machinery including 360 excavators, Loading shovels, Forklifts, Power screens, Crusher, Trommels, Conveyers, Doppstadt etc; which are essential in our day to day delivery of services that we provide to the Construction and Waste Industries. Occasional working at our other sites including Glasgow, Dundee and Newcastle is to be expected.

Although we expect the successful candidate to be able to offer occasional support in the daily operations of all above outlines vehicles and machinery, their main duties will fall in line with volumetric mixers, road sweepers and various plant machinery.

The role available is a part-time position 3 days a week, working approx. 24 hours per week on day shifts. Overtime with an expectation of working every second Saturday where the business requires will also be available at the rate outlined below. A competitive rate of pay will be offered for the right candidate based on experience.

Job Activities: 

  • Servicing & Maintaining Plant

  • Managing plant defects

  • Making up Hydraulic hoses

  • General welding where required

Collecting waste with our fleet of Trade Refuse, Skip, Tipper, Grab and Walking Floor articulated vehicles, we transport materials to our material recycling facilities where we produce and recover valuable products such as metals, cardboard, paper, washed sands, biomass for energy and animal bedding.
